5 June 2016 v South Wales Hunts
he side against the South Wales Hunts had not made a single Rambler appearance – and not many others – this season and were totally outplayed, except for the 14 overs in which Richard Briscoe and Eddy Nissen thrashed 99. The last 8 made 33 between them. Full marks to the ground staff for producing an Agar’s Plough score board after the Upper Club board crashed, despite attempted remedial work by R Montgomerie! The decision to make it a 50 over match – described correctly by an opponent as “having less culture that a pot of yogurt” rebounded badly – a very frustrated Bruce Jenkin-Jones spent forty minutes wanting to declare! Plenty of supporters from both sides – an excellent day except for the Ramblers’ performance!
